Doug was born and raised near Chicago, where his father owned an electronics company. His family moved to his dad’s home state of South Dakota in the 1970s where Doug attended the University of South Dakota and then joined the family business, working for and eventually purchasing the company with his brother in the 1990s, which they owned until 2009.

In 2013, Doug and his son Andrew started Rocky Range Investments (RRI), a real estate company centered on buying and remodeling luxury condos in Colorado and Arizona. Through this venture they gained experience in real estate acquisition, design, project and construction management, leasing, finance and sales.

With a focus on people, the planet and profits – in that order, RRI has recently adopted the name Bowden Investment Group to reflect the passion for the family business. All three of Doug’s children now work with him at Bowden Investment Group, fulfilling his dream of creating the same opportunity for them that his father created for him.

Doug and his wife Mary share ownership of Bowden Investment Group and also share a love of outdoor activities and spending time with their family and grandchildren.
